OBSERVARE-UAL | MNE Diplomatic Institute – Protocol

The Cooperation Protocol between OBSERVARE-Observatório de Relações Exteriores, a research unit of the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa and the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was signed today, 25th January 2022, at 11:00 a.m.. The ceremony took place at the MNE. The Protocol was signed by the Vice-President of CEU/UAL in charge of Research, Prof. Reginaldo Rodrigues de Almeida and by the Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Ambassador Freitas Ferraz, in the presence of OBSERVARE’s Director, Prof. Luis Tomé and of several diplomats and MNE’s staff members. This Protocol formalizes and reinforces the already long collaboration between the International Relations Department and OBSERVARE of the UAL with the MFA and the Diplomatic Institute, increasing mutual collaborative ties.

Immediately after the signing ceremony of this Protocol, Professors Reginaldo de Almeida and Luis Tomé met with Ambassador Freitas Ferraz and Dr. Joana Gaspar in the Franco Nogueira Room of the MNE, in order to concretize the development of a wide range of joint activities from studies and research projects to the organization of conferences, specialization courses and co-editions, The participation of diplomats from the MNE in initiatives of OBSERVARE and the UAL’s IR Department and the participation of UAL’s professors and OBSERVARE’s researchers in initiatives of the MNE Diplomatic Institute, as well as the possibility of internships for UAL’s students at the MNE and special conditions for entry in UAL’s post-graduate courses, master’s degrees and doctorates in the areas of International Relations for diplomats and MNE’s officials.
