Luís Valença Pinto


Army General (retired).

He is currently Visiting Professor at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), Department of International Relations.

He is a researcher integrated in OBSERVARE/UAL, where he has carried out his own research work and coordinated several projects and research.

It focuses in particular on security and defence issues, strategy, geopolitics, Europe (including the EU and NATO), the Mediterranean and Africa.

It has published over 90 studies, book chapters and articles.

He regularly lectures and participates in Congresses and Seminars at universities and other institutions in Portugal and abroad.
