For over 25 years, Professor Giuseppe Ammendola has taught courses in International Political Economy, International Business, International Management, International Finance, International Trade and Investment, International Marketing, International Relations, American government and US and European Union foreign policy. In addition to teaching at New York University, he has lectured at New York City University, as well as in several postgraduate Italian Business Schools and post-doctoral institutions.
He is a consultant for small and medium enterprises in strategic management, marketing and evaluation and business plan preparation. Author of several books including “From Creditor to Debtor: The U.S. Pursuit of Foreign Capital – The Case of the Repeal of the Withholding Tax”, published in “Foreign Economic Policy of the United States – Outstanding Studies’ Series, as well as the internationally recognized study “The Government of Italy” in Michael Curtis, ed. He is the editor and principal author of “The European Union: Multidisciplinary Views”. Guest commentator on Bloomberg TV, where he reviews issues about the US economy and capital markets. He has delivered hundreds of presentations (in Spanish, French and Portuguese, as well as English) to businesses, governments and non-profit managers, as well as to the general public on aspects of the global economy.
Professor Ammendola holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Business, summa cum laude, from the University of Naples, and a Ph.D. in Political Science with specialization in International Political Economics, from the Graduate School of New York City University, where he worked at several research institutes. He came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar and received from New York University the title of “SCPS Excellence in Teaching Award”. He is responsible for the Joseph Schumpeter Chair in International Economics, as Visiting Professor, at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa.
