This conference cycle takes place in the context of the V Edition of the Course of Advanced Studies on “Latin America” and aims to know and understand the historical and geographical specificities of the region, the processes of American and regional integration, the foci of conflict between states, and international relations in Latin America, with emphasis on relations between Latin America and the USA, Latin America and the European Union, Latin America and China, Latin America and Africa, and Latin America and Portugal.
The cycle includes 14 lectures (face-to-face, online and hybrid) by experts, national and foreign, between March and May 2023, covering a range of subjects, some of which are inserted in those that are the great lines of research of the Chair of Ibero-American Studies (https://observare.autonoma.pt/catedra-estudos-americanos/), and which are, Democracy and Rule of Law, Latin America – Africa – European Union, Regional Integration, Trafficking and Migration.
