Although it has a long tradition at the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL) – Department of International Relations – and also at the Institute of National Defence (IDN), area or regional studies are underdeveloped in Portugal. Therefore, UAL and IDN are promoting, in partnership, a series of five Advanced Courses in Regional Studies for anyone interested, including non-graduates, in learning about or deepening their knowledge of the following regions: Eurasia ++ Middle East and Maghreb ++ Sub-Saharan Africa ++ Asia-Pacific ++ Latin America.
The courses are entirely autonomous and candidates can attend just one, several or all of them.
Classes for the 6th edition of these Courses will be held at UAL from March to June 2024, on a weekday between 09.00 and 13.00 or 18.30 and 22.30.
While attending these courses, students will also be invited to participate in thematic conferences organised by IDN and UAL.
