23-27 May, 2022 | Classes will be held in person at the National Defence Institute (IDN) in Lisbon, with the possibility of attending remotely at the IDN facilities in Porto.
The course in Geopolitics of Sub-Saharan Africa uses the Geopolitics analysis tool – space as a theatre of operations – to perceive Sub-Saharan Africa today, with a special focus on Portuguese-speaking African Countries and regional security structures. With a multidisciplinary approach, the course comprises fundamental issues of geopolitical action in the region, presented by specialised researchers.
The organisation is undertaken by three research institutions: Instituto da Defesa Nacional (IDN), Centro de Estudos Internacionais, Iscte-IUL (CEI-Iscte) and OBSERVARE of Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL).
