The Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) – Rio de Janeiro, through the Postgraduate Programme in Strategic Defence and Security Studies (PPGEST) of the Instituto de Estudos Estratégicos (INEST), the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL) and OBSERVARE, have the great pleasure of inviting you to attend the Presentation Ceremony of the 16th Edition of the ‘HOPLOS’ Magazine, which will take place ONLINE (Youtube Channel) on 09Jul25 at 19.00 hours (Lisbon time).
The 16th edition of the journal ‘HOPLOS’, entitled ‘Thinking and Waging War: The Contemporaneity of the Classics’, was coordinated by Professor Luís Manuel Brás Bernardino (UAL) and Dr Eduardo Freitas Gorga (PPG). Eduardo Freitas Gorga (PPGEST), and includes 12 scientific articles which aim to ‘…discuss the transition from traditional wars to new forms of conflict – hybrid, cybernetic, informational and cultural – seeking to understand their implications for geopolitics, geostrategy, sovereignty and global security, and above all, to discover whether there is a link between the “new” wars and classical warfare’ (Luís Bernardino, lecturer at UAL).
