This thematic dossier is entitled “Perspectives on China’s International Presence: Strategies, Processes and Challenges”. All authors have participated in the annual Spring Conferences of the Macau Scientific and Cultural Centre (CCCM) China. The first two articles in this dossier take a look back at developments in the first decade of the millennium, contributing to the understanding of events that mark the present day. The remaining two articles analyse contemporary political issues, addressing various aspects of Chinese domestic and international politics. The authors present original and innovative research, certainly useful to the reader for understanding China in the 21st century.
