Dividend policy is one of the most important financial decisions managers encounter. This study contributes to empirical studies examining the relationship between cash dividends and earnings growth of companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange during the period 2007-2020. As a result, 131 companies have been examined with the multiple regression estimation model. The findings show a significant relationship between cash dividends per share and future earnings growth. Furthermore, there is a sig nificant relationship interaction term between the dividend payout ratio and the investment growth assumption. This relationship is also observed for return on equity and dividend payout ratio.

Resumo
A política de dividendos é uma das decisões financeiras mais importantes que os gestores encontram. Este estudo contribui para estudos empíricos que examinam a relação entre os dividendos em dinheiro e o crescimento dos lucros das empresas cotadas na Bolsa de Valores de Teerão durante o período 2007-2020. Como resultado, 131 empresas foram examinadas com o modelo de estimativa de regressão múltipla. Os resultados mostram uma relação significativa entre os dividendos em dinheiro por ação e o crescimento dos lucros futuros. Além disso, existe uma relação significativa de interação entre o rácio de pagamento de dividendos e a hipótese de crescimento do investimento. Esta relação é também observada para o retorno do capital próprio e o rácio de pagamento de dividendos.
