DANIEL POMMIER VINCELLI
Daniel Pommier Vincelli (1975) is teaching assistant (ricercatore universitario) in Political Sociology at Sapienza University of Rome, where he teaches Political Development and Democratic Transition at the Master Degree in Cooperation and Development.
He obtained his PhD degree in International Relations at Sapienza University of Rome, where he is member of both the department of Social research and Communication and the Research Center “Cooperation with Eurasia, Mediterranean area and Sub-Saharan Africa” (CEMAS).
Prof. Daniel Pommier is Executive Director of the center for Azerbaijani and Caucasian Studies at Sapienza University; member of the Association for Studies of Nationalities; member of the Italian Sociological Association, belonging to the sections “political sociology” and “sociology of law”; and since 2008 he regularly attends the ASN world convention at Columbia University.
He has been visiting student at the Paul Nitze School for Advanced and International Studies (DC, USA), Postdoctorate fellow NATO-at the university of Babes Bolyai (Romania), postdoctorate fellow at the Italian National Council for Research, visiting professor at the Baku State University (Azerbaijan).
He has been professor (temporarly engaged) of history of international relations at Sapienza University and Macerata University. He teaches at the PhD course in history of Europe at Sapienza University and the Master degree in “international cooperation, finance and development” at Unitelma university.
Prof. Daniel Pommier was appointed political advisor of the ministry for public administration from 2014 to 2018.
His fields of research include Post-soviet studies, history of international relations in XX century, transition studies, Caucasian history and politics, government and public administration in comparative way.
Among his most recent publications: “L’azione internazionale della repubblica democratica dell’Azerbaigian alla conferenza di Versailles. Un’interpretazione storico-sociologica” in Annali La Malfa, (2017). “Assetti di potere nella Transcaucasia Post-sovietica” in Il Caucaso meridionale. Una lunga storia (Passigli, 2012). Other than academic appointments he worked as consultant for the Italian Senate and Chamber of Deputies since 2004.

Was born in 05/27/1960 at the city of Lorena, São Paulo, Brazil.
Holds a degree in Social Sciences from UNICAMP - State University of Campinas (2001), with the Monograph "THE DEVELOPMENT OPTION OF JUSCELINO KUBITSCHEK DE OLIVEIRA"; Specialization in Social Service and Management of Social Projects by FMU - Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (2014), with the Monograph "SOCIAL POLICIES, HEALTH AND CONSUMER SOCIETY: CONSIDERATIONS ABOUT THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF DIABETES MELITO TYPE 2"; MSc in Sociology from UNICAMP (2003), with the Dissertation " HIBRIDISM AND INTEGRATION IN THE WORKS INTERPRETATIVES OF BRAZIL FROM FLORESTAN FERNANDES"; and a PhD in Sociology from UNICAMP (2007), with TESE "FLORESTAN FERNANDES AND SOCIOLOGY AS A CRITICAL OF SOCIAL PROCESSES".
Professor of undergraduate courses in Social Sciences at UNICAMP, from 2003 to 2007; in the UNIVERSITY CENTER SANT'ANNA, from 2008 to 2010; and in the PONTIFICAL CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF CAMPINAS since 2008.
Graduated Academic Integrator of the undergraduate courses at the Center for Human and Applied Social Sciences at PUC-Campinas. Researcher with projects approved and financed by CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development) in the areas of socio-environmental sustainability and community development.
He is a member of the Biotupé Research Group of INPA (National Institute of Amazonian Research). He has experience teaching and research in the areas of Sociology, Anthropology, Education and Political Science, working mainly with the following topics: social and environmental sustainability, social theory, Brazilian social thought, community studies, social determinants of health, culture and modernity, innovative technologies in education, social and solidarity economy and classical political thinking.
He is the author of the books "RIVERSIDES FROM RIO NEGRO: A STUDY OF SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY" and "FLORESTAN FERNANDES AND SOCIOLOGY AS A CRITICAL OF SOCIAL PROCESSES".

ALBERTO ARONS DE CARVALHO
PhD in Communication Sciences by the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and is licensed by the Faculdade de Direito of the Universidade Clássica de Lisboa.
He was teacher in the Departamento de Ciências da Comunicação in the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa from 1981 to 1995 and from 2002 to 2016.
He was State Secretary for the Media from 1995 to 2002 in the 13th and 14th Constitucional Governments and member of the Portuguese Parliament in the Assembleia Constituinte and the Assembleia da República (from 1975 to 1983, from 1987 to 1995 and from 2002 to 2009).
He was journalist in República (1974/5) and in A Luta (1975/6) and member of the Press Council (Conselho de Imprensa) (in 1975 and from 1985 to 1988) and of the Conselhos de Informação para a Imprensa (1977-80) and for RDP (1980-84).
He was vice-president of the Conselho Regulador da ERC (Regulatory Authority for the Media) from 2012 to 2017.
He is author or co author of eight books and numerous articles on topics related to social communication.
ANA ISABEL XAVIER

Ana Isabel Xavier is an Assistant Professor in UAL and ISCTE-IUL and a Research Fellow in Observare-UAL, CEI-IUL and at the Research Centre of the Security and Defence at the Portuguese Military University Institute. She has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, a Master degree in Sociology and holds a PhD in International Relations (European Studies), from the University of Coimbra with a dissertation entitled "The European Union and Human Security: a crisis management global player in search of a strategic culture?”.
She was a member of the Jacques Delors European Centre Team of Trainers and a European Commission’s Team Europe engaging, for several years, in training activities on European Studies, Human Rights, Non-Formal Education and Citizenship. Since 2016, Ana Isabel Xavier is also part of the pool of trainers of the European College of Security and Defence in the CSDP Training for Eastern Partnership Countries and CSDP Reflection Seminar.
From March 2015 to February 2017, served as Defence Policy Deputy Director in the Portuguese Ministry of National Defence. She was pro bono President of DECIDE (Youth Association of security, defence and citizenship auditors) and AACDN (Association of former auditors of the Defence National Courses).
Ana Isabel Xavier is frequently enrolled in the portuguese media to comment on european and international politics: in the national public television, she is part of the international relations’ experts of a weekly programme called “Olhar o Mundo” (https://www.rtp.pt/play/p3107/e283018/olhar-o-mundo); she is also regularly invited by radio Antena 1, TSF, Rádio Renascença and a local radio broadcasting weekly programme called “European magazine” where she discusses european and international politics.
She was the head of the European Studies section of the Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP) since its creation in 2015 until early 2018 Her main research interests and publications include the European Union, Security and Defence, Human Security, Human Rights and Globalization.
In 2015 she was awarded with the Marshall Memorial Fellowship by the German Marshall Fund of the United States. In 2013 she was a Fullbright fellow of the SUSI Institute on U.S. National Security Policymaking.
In 2016, Ana Isabel Xavier received the “Cruz del Mérito Aeronáutico con Distintibo Blanco” by the Government of Spain, granted on the “basis of merits, works, actions, acts or distinguished services carried out during the performance of missions or services ordinarily or extraordinarily entrusted to the Armed Forces or related to Defense".
BRUNO REIS
Doutor em Ciências Sociais, ramo de Ciência Política, pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) e Doutor em Ciências da Comunicação pela Universidade Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid (URJC). Licenciado em Sociologia pela Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI).
Professor Auxiliar na UAL no Departamento de Ciências da Comunicação, onde é responsável pela mobilidade académica e co-coordenador do Núcleo de investigação em Práticas e Competências Mediáticas (NIP-C@M). Representante eleito no Conselho Pedagógico.
Entre 2010 e 2012 foi coordenador do Curso de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Cabo Verde (UNI-CV) e professor auxiliar nas licenciaturas de Sociologia e Ciência Política. Lecionou igualmente no Mestrado de Ciências Sociais da instituição cabo-verdiana. Foi professor auxiliar convidado no Departamento de Comunicação do Instituto Universitário da Maia (ISMAI) e no Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco (IPCB).
Na actualidade é professor convidado no mestrado de “comunicación y cultura digital” da Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro (México) e professor auxiliar convidado na Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI), na Licenciatura de Sociologia e no Mestrado de Relações Internacionais.
Investiga com especial interesse as representações sociais das ditaduras e os processos de transição política tecidos nas reelaborações dos discursos ficcionais.
